Welcome! My name is Jessica Ojala (last name is Finnish and pronounced OH-juh-luh). I started farming in the fall of 2017, and am currently in my second growing season. I sell fresh cut flower bouquets from May through September, and holiday wreaths in December. The farm is located in Elmore, Vermont on a former Christmas tree farm with heavy clay soil and lots of slope. It's a work in progress :) Some of my favorite flowers to grow are peonies, poppies, ranunculus, anemones, sweet peas, larkspur, dahlias and roses. I also grow many specialty tulips and daffodils in the spring. Before flower farming, I worked as a photographer, and I still love taking pictures of what’s blooming on the farm.
My flowers can be found at the Elmore Store and the Morrisville Co-op (also known as MoCo). New this year is the Bouquet Subscription! Sign up for six weeks of fresh bouquets in early or late summer—or both! My goal is to bring the highest quality fresh cut flowers to my local markets and share the bounty with my neighbors. I’m not organically certified, but I do follow organic practices, including using only organic fertilizers and never spraying with chemicals. I’d like my farm to be as sustainable as possible, and to that end I’m also committed to using compostable and biodegradable packaging.
